Avatar: The Last Airbender [x] Magic: The Gathering at TGP
It’s finally here! It’s happening!
The long-awaited collaboration, the leaked, teased, talked-about and all but inevitable crossover! Best of all, it looks like it’s going to be a BANGER of an MTG set!
We’ll be selling all the product we can while also making sure we’ve got enough set aside to run tournaments and associated prizing. Hopefully we’ll have some left over for next week’s FNM for anyone who can’t make it out for prerelease weekend, but that mostly depends on demand and distribution numbers.
Sealed TLA product will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis in-person only at The Gathering Place. No reservations, no preorders, and you’re actively encouraged to call the shop directly day-of for any questions you may have regarding availability. (shop phone #: (984) 999-4548)
Of course, an MTG set release weekend is mostly about one thing: sealed tournaments.
For Avatar specifically, theme prerelease kits are returning for each of the Bending styles/nations. Players will be given a prerelease kit at random! If you were born into the world of ATLA, you wouldn’t get to choose your bending. Why would this be any different?

MTG Spider-Man at The Gathering Place

Spider-Man’s MTG outing is almost here, and The Gathering Place is your friendly neighborhood game shop and place to get started web-slinging across another corner of the multiverse.
TGP is holding prerelease events all weekend, entry is $35 per player. Typical prerelease structure, three Swiss rounds, 1 pack per win. Entrants will all recieve a Spider-Man prerelease kit, containing the following:
- 6 Marvel’s Spider-Man Play Boosters
- 1 Traditional Foil Rare/Mythic with a year stamp
- Spindown life counter
Here’s the days/times:
- Fri 9/19: 2:30 + 7:00
- Sat, 9/20: 12:00 + 4:00
- Sun, 9/21: 12:00 (Two-Headed Giant)
Players can preregister for the prerelease events on TGP’s online store.
We’ll also have as much Spider-Man sealed product for sale as we can, per-customer limitations will most likely be in effect, and product will be sold first-come, first served. Customers who preordered Spider-Man product will be able to pick up their orders on Friday.

Commander Precons, Online Inventory and More!
Updates from The Gathering Place, specifically the product-on-the-website side of things!
It’s been soft-launched in the ask-staff section of our Discord server already, but it’s high time everybody knew the answer to a specific and often-asked question: “what MTG Commander precons do you have in stock?”
Thanks to diligent work on behalf of TGP’s own Preston, literally every single Commander precon available for purchase at The Gathering Place is now listed in online inventory! It’s searchable, it’s priced, it’s easy to look through and maintained regularly! It’s very cool, and we should all be grateful to Preston for his effort! Praise him! Praise be to Preston! Look upon his works, ye mighty, and despair!
Also, in regards to online inventory – TGP shop, in-store kiosk – there’s been some significant additions made! Final Fantasy singles may be of particular note, but there’s a bunch of new inventory, freshly added! Click here to check out the online inventory!
The Gathering Place also wishes to formally announce the availability (and Commander League legality) of Urza’s Saga ($250) and Urza’s Legacy ($100) packs! They’re headed out with TGP’s mobile division for the booth at Greenville [UNPLUGGED]: TCG & Collectibles Convention this weekend, but whatever comes home is up for grabs.
Finally, as far as what’s available in store and online goes, One Piece preorders for the new hotness are live on the TGP online shop! Give it a look, if you’re interested in securing The Legacy of The Masters for your own!

There’s also still some Gundam starter decks in stock in-store! They’re $20, they’re very cool, and it really feels like the Gundam TCG is off to a strong start.
