Parking at The Gathering Place and Alpha Pie
The Gathering Place / Alpha Pie are lucky to be located in downtown Chapel Hill, but such a fantastic place to do business comes with a certain amount of responsibility to let folks know where and how to park. Rosemary Street and Franklin Street are relatively easy to navigate for folks who are from here, or spend a lot of time downtown, but for anyone who would like a little extra help figuring out where to park — this page is for you!
First things first, there is a private lot associated with TGP/AP. It’s the asphalt lot directly next to the building, can’t miss it. If there’s a spot available, patrons of TGP/AP are welcome to park here, for free, as long as they’re at the shop. Our parking lot is open during business hours, and we kindly ask you avoid parking here when the shop isn’t open or leaving your car overnight, if at all possible. For special consideration, speak directly to a TGP staff member and we’ll do our best.
(TGP/AP works directly with Integrity Towing Solutions to maintain our lot, signs are posted and they can be reached at 919-790-9393)
Directly across the street and a couple door down, TGP/AP are adjacent to two parking decks run by the Town of Chapel Hill. (side note, if you’re looking for information on parking directly from the Town, check out Park on The Hill for official lots that aren’t profiteering parasites). Here’s a map, as well:
Parking in the Town of Chapel Hill parking decks next to TGP/AP is free for the first 30 minutes, and rates are $1.50-$2 an hour, and parking is free after 8:00 p.m. as well as free on Sundays.
