Weekly Annoucements

TGP Dispatch: 2/3/26

February 3, 2026
8:11 pm

Hello, friends! It’s time to talk about what’s happening at The Gathering Place! It’s the first week of a new month, so there’s a full boat of announcements to make and happenings to go over. Best we start with what kicked off literally today: the Beginner-Friendly Commander League!

For anyone who’s not acquainted, Commander League has been a staple at TGP for a long time. When the sun set on Commander League Season X, we decided after ten iterations it was worth changing things up a little bit. We began 2026 with a set-specific League squarely focused on MTG’s return to Lorwyn, but we’re opening up our next League this week for anyone who’s been a little on the fence about getting heavy into Magic: The Gathering!

The Beginner-Friendly League is meant to be a fun and hands-on way to take the next step into playing Magic, a soft launch into tournament play and an ongoing exploration into deckbuilding best practices as well as a primer for the Leagues yet to come. Commander League play is a whole different animal, as any League player can tell you, and the Beginner League is a great way to get to know the process as a first-timer without getting throw in the deep end and told to swim.

Each player starts with a precon, just like League. Each player begins with a prerelease kit of their choice, taken from a selection of Lorwyn: Eclipsed, Outlaws of Thunder Junction, Core Set 2019/20, or Spider-Man. From there, it’s a flat $20 a week to receive three packs of MTG boosters, hand-picked literally just for you by TGP staff. The event is limited to 32 participants so we can keep track of everybody and provide guidance on what you’re looking for, who might have trades for you, whatever you need to streamline your League play and understand the landscape. We’re here to help! Also, participation in the TGP discord channel (specifically, the newly-created private Beginner League channel!) might also be a boon when it comes to getting you on the path to glory come tournament time.

For all the details on the Beginner-Friendly Commander League, click here!

There’s a lot of other events happening this week too! Girly Pop Magic is making a triumphant and femme-forward return to TGP for another Thursday night session! GPM comes by TGP every month, so come back the first Thursday and play some fun games with some truly excellent folks! Check out the Girly Pop Magic page(s) for all the details and some truly wonderful posts. If you’ve seen the Prerelease Primers for Lorwyn that were in the shop, that was GPM’s doing! They’re very cool!

This Saturday, TGP is hosting the monthly CEDH Dual Land Tournament, so we’ll see all our competitive Commander player out there on the battlefield come the weekend. Good luck to all, and know registration is still available if you haven’t locked in your slot just yet.

Sunday, 2/8 is looking pretty popping as well. Two prereleases in the form of Gundam GD03 (rescheduled due to snow) and Riftbound: Spiritforged. Both are starting at 1:00 p.m., signups are in person and online at the respective TCG spots, carde.io for Riftbound and Bandai for Gundam.

Next week, the ball keeps rolling up with the [rescheduled] FINAL FINAL FANTASY tournament (which is going to be very cool and fun, not to mention an excellent opportunity to take home a sweet FF promo or the Sephiroth poster right off the TGP wall) and then the Lorwyn League Finale on Sunday!

As the month gets rolling good and proper, keep an eye on the TGP Events pages for changes and updates, be expecting a few more posts about what’s going on, and we’ll see you around!

TGP Dispatch: 1/27/26

January 27, 2026
5:03 pm

This week at The Gathering Place, we’re defrosting just enough to get ready for another potential round of snowfall this weekend and – in the meantime – we’re getting ready for the end of January and the beginning of next month!

Perhaps the most immediate news to highlight is the rescheduling of the Final Final Fantasy event. Originally slated for this upcoming Sunday, 2/1, we’ve made the decision to preemptively reschedule it. We’ve heard a good bit about folks traveling a ways to come out for it, and we don’t want anybody to either miss out or put themselves in even the smallest amount of danger to play Magic: The Gathering. No matter how good the prizing might be.

So, the new date for Final Final Fantasy is Saturday, 2/14. We also made a couple other changes: since some folks might have dinner plans on that particular Saturday, we’re still starting it at noon, but now it’s running it as a Draft event instead of sealed, as well as ditching the Comp REL component. Draft has potential to be a shorter event, no decklists need to be written down or anything, and it has the pleasant side benefit of cutting the price of entry literally in half.

Entry for Final Final Fantasy is now $50, but the prizing is still the same. We refunded all previously reserved ticked through the TGP online store, and there’s a new ticket option now for the $50 buy-in. The tournament will cut to Top 8, and prizing will scale directly with attendance. All 16 Yuna promos, the posters, the pins, and everything we had set aside for the event remains unchanged! We’ll just add more sealed FF to the mix: packs, Collector Boosters, and if enough people show up we’ll start throwing FF foils from the case on top of existing prizing.

For all the details, click here.

For the Final Final Fantasy registration link on the TGP site, click here.

We’re still very much on for the Premodern Cash Tournament on Saturday, however. Starting at noon, $20 buy in, a cash for clash in the Premodern format of MTG. Premodern is still gaining traction and steam, and looks like it might just be one of the new favorite ways to play Magic. We’re kicking off Premodern locals on Wednesdays in February too, so be on the lookout for those!

Speaking of next month, that’s also when you’ll see the kickoff of our Beginner-Friendly Commander League! For anyone looking to get into Magic: The Gathering but not sure where to start, this is the place for you.

Buy in is $30 plus the cost of a preconstructed MTG Commander deck. Players will choose their own preconstructed deck to start with, and receive sleeves + starter packs like usual. The main difference is size, personal attention and the week-over-week pack slot mechanics.

BFL will feature a fixed $20/week structure, which comes with curated packs for each player and personal knowledge from staff. To keep things manageable and provide the experience we want, the Beginner Friendly League is capped at 36 players, or, nine full pods of four.

For those curious about the details of other League events at The Gathering Place throughout 2026, you can check out this post right here.

There’s more to cover about what’s happening in February, some fun news about tournaments in-store and more, but this Dispatch is already close to 600 words. So those will be in other, separate posts so they get the attention they deserve instead of getting lost in the sauce. They’ll be posted on the TGP site, and put in the #announcements channel on the TGP Discord, so stay tuned tomorrow and Thursday.

Until then, stay safe, stay warm, and we’ll see you around!

(also, Slab Game is back if you feel like taking a shot at owning a piece of Power, y’know, if that’s something you’re interested in)

TGP Dispatch: 1/20/25

January 20, 2026
5:23 pm

This week at The Gathering Place, we’re still positively buzzing in the shadow of the Lorwyn: Eclipsed release!

All the prerelease tournaments were popping, we’ve seen some stellar stuff cracked in-store already, and the events focused on Lorwyn’s unique set and setting continue on TGP tabletops this week. FNM Draft will be Lorwyn: Eclipsed [ECL] and we’ll keep packs on the shelves as long as we’ve got ’em! Boxes are still for sale, and Collector boosters of [ECL] are $40 at the time of this post.

Of course, Lorwyn activities go beyond prereleases and drafts. There’s also Lorwyn League, which is kicking off today! For all the details, check out the post here.

There’s also a ~private channel~ over on the TGP Discord for Lorwyn League players to trade and talk shop, so if you’d like to be granted access send Victor / Ludovician a DM or tag @staff somewhere relevant. Whatever’s clever, really. If you’re not in the TGP Discord…. I mean, why wouldn’t you be in the TGP Discord?

Relevant events for the rest of the month include:

Saturday, 1/24

Gundam Starter Deck ST07+ST08 Event @ 1:00 p.m.

Digimon Evolution Cup Tournament Volume III @ 1:00 p.m.

Sunday, 1/25

Riftbound Nexus Night @ 1:00 p.m.

Saturday, 1/31

MTG Preemodern Cash Tournament @ 12:00 p.m.

Gundam TCG GD03 Prerelease Event @ 1:00 p.m.

The Gathering Place’s event calendar is the most up to date and best place to get a feel for what’s happening at the shop and when, as always. Worth noting, another CEDH Dual Land tournament is coming up on the first Saturday of February, and we’ll be publishing breakdowns for the FINAL FINAL FANTASY event and the Beginner-Friendly Commander League tomorrow!

See you then, have a great start to your week, and be safe as temperatures drop and the chances of wintry precipitation rise.

Also, of major importance: ALPHA PIE IS NOW OPEN FOR LUNCH. 11 IN THE MORNING PIZZA, BAYBE

All other trivia rules and regulations apply, as do the usual prizes. See you there.

Other important news, a whole lot of new inventory has been added on the TGP Online Store! There’s a bunch of hot singles in your area, including some heat from the Avatar: The Last Airbender UB set, so check ’em out if you’ve got anything on your list to grab!

TGP is also in the process of restructuring how our in-house D&D events work, you might have already noticed we’ve shifted the D&D Learn to Play events to a monthly event. We’re revamping signups, process, and we want to make it as cool as possible. Stay tuned for all that action, and if you’ve got any suggestions or things you’d like to see, send us a message here.

For the convention-curious and Charlie’s Collectible Show-minded, TGP is coming back to CCS because it’s fun and we like doing it!

TGP Dispatch: 1/6/26

January 6, 2026
4:39 pm

Hello and, formally, welcome to 2026 from The Gathering Place. It’s our first full week back and January is already shaping up to be an incredibly busy month. There’s a lot to talk about, we won’t get to all of it today, you’ll see more updates here on the TGP site and through our various channels of communication (chief among them, the TGP Discord). So be on the lookout for all that action. Here’s what we’re focusing on right now, in the immediate.

1. 2026 Changes and Updates

We posted this on the site a little while ago, and it’s relevant to also include in the Dispatch for the week. Long story short — TGP is changing our policy regarding outside food, we’re changing up the Discord a little bit, and we’re going to be more active in monitoring and maintaining our private lot’s parking situation to better prioritize folks who are actually coming here.

The full post, all the details, it’s all right here.

2. The TGP Parking Situation

Related to the above, worth noting in its own separate category, check out the new TGP Parking Guide. Hopefully it’s useful.

3.The Events Calendar / Page

You may have already noticed, the Events page is a little different. There’s also a little widget on the homepage as well, but some kinks are still getting worked out there. More on that in a second.

First, and most importantly for now, is the brand-new TGP Events Calendar on Google Sheets. The change we made last year was pretty successful and seemed to be positively received, and we have incorporated feedback to make the new calendar hopefully even better at its job of telling people what’s happening in the store and when.

Check out the MONTHLY / YEARLY calendar for The Gathering Place here

The Events Page on TGP’s site has a link to that Google Sheet calendar, which is nice, but it’s also got a link to a more in-house solution. We’re currently building out a calendar directly on the TGP site, things are getting added as fast as we are able. It’ll be substantially more built out this time next week, check it out then. Or now, if you want, I’m not your supervisor. It’s just not done yet.

4. Events currently on the aforementioned calendar

Lorwyn is releasing this month, we’re doing a little special “Lorwyn League” alongside that. We’ve got a “Beginner-Friendly League,” we’ve got an “Expert-Level League” we’ve got the flagship TGP Commander League XI, we’ve got specialty tournaments and fun stuff and all kinds of things happening soon, and happening all year. You’ll see more information, breakdowns and elevator pitches in the coming days. It’s just a little too much to break down today, in this announcement. We’re already four topics deep, and we haven’t even covered —

This Week at The Gathering Place

Thursday, 1/8 —  Girlypop Magic @ 6:00 p.m.

TGP is delighted, absolutely and positively hyped, to be part of Girlypop Magic‘s ongoing takeover of the Triangle! The first Thursday of every month, we’re hosting Girlypop for an evening of femme-forward, non-binary-friendly, gender-expansive and all-around fun session of MTG with a focus on Commander play and good times.

Friday, 1/9 —  One Piece TCG OP14 Product Release

The Azure Sea’s Seven comes out this weekend, the prerelease event for it is on Saturday, but we’ll have product on the shelves when we open on Friday.

Saturday, 1/10 —  MTG Modern Cash Tournament (@12:00 p.m.) + One Piece OP14 Prerelease Event (@1:00 p.m.)

The Modern Cash Tournament is the same as it ever was, $20 entry, high-level MTG gameplay in the Modern format. All entry back in the prize pool, and a no-holds-barred skirmish for supremacy.

One Piece continues to sail the TCG high seas, and OP14’s prerelease at TGP is this Saturday starting at one. The event has already capped in signups over on Bandai, but we’ll have a waitlist day-of if you want to try and snag a spot from somebody who didn’t show.

Sunday, 1/11 —  Riftbound Summoner’s Skirmish (@1:00 p.m.) + cHaOs BoOsTeR dRaFt (@3:00 p.m.)

TGP literally just expanded the cap for this Sunday’s Riftbound tournament from 16 to 32, so signups are back open literally right now. Event information and registration here.

Also, MTG Chaos Draft at 3:00 p.m.! It’s the first one of the year, feels like we could make it a little something special if enough people show up. Just saying. See you there, maybe.

Also also, did you know Lorwyn: Eclipsed is releasing soon? Did you know you can sign up for prerelease tournaments at TGP right here, right now? Click here

Like I said, this is already a lot of information and things to throw at you, so we’re calling the Dispatch for the week here. Already just about at 800 words, sheesh. More things will be talked about, posted about, and expounded upon soon.

For now, thanks for reading, thanks for hanging, thanks for playing, and we’ll see you around.

TGP Holiday Dispatch: 12/23/25

December 23, 2025
2:32 pm

Hello, friends!

Today, Tuesday, 12/23, is The Gathering Place’s last day of business for 2025. We’ll be closed for nine days — Wednesday, 12/24 through Thursday, 1/1 — and reopening with normal business hours on Friday, 1/2.

To that end, here’s some stuff to know as we wrap up the year:

  • TGP online orders and systems are being cleared for the new year. Any unpaid orders will be returned to our inventory over the break. If you would like to reorder those items in the future, our online inventory will reflect what is available from TGP.
  • We’re clearing out the informal TGP “lost and found,” so any items left unclaimed will be donated and moved out of the shop.
  • Today is the last day, obviously, of the in-store and online sales. If there’s anything you’ve been waiting to snag, from single cards in the case to board games on the shelf, today’s the day to do it.

For updates to what’s happening in-store, both in January 2026 and the rest of the year beyond that, look for the TGP Dispatch on Tuesday, 1/6. It’ll be posted here on the TGP site, an announcement will be made in the Discord server, all the usual channels. We’ll have some big news, announcements and certainly a great deal to look forward to in the coming months.

Until then, here’s a quick breakdown of what’s happening in January:

  • 1/3 — CEDH Dual Land Tournament (link for details and registration here)
  • 1/10 —ONE PIECE CARD GAME OP-14 Release Event @ 1:00 p.m.
  • 1/18 — DIGIMON CARD GAME Booster Pack -TIME STRANGER- [BT-24] Release Event @ 1:00 p.m.
  • 1/16 through 1/18 — Lorwyn Eclipsed Prerelease (details, registration and more here)
  • 1/24 —  GUNDAM CARD GAME ST07/08 Release Event @ 1:00 p.m.
  • 1/24 — DIGIMON CARD GAME Evolution Cup 2025 Vol.3 @ 1:00 p.m.
  • 1/31 — GUNDAM CARD GAME GD03 Release Event @ 1:00 p.m.

To all, we wish you a pleasant, merry, bright, warm and happy holiday. May your pulls be incredible and your top deck draws immaculate. We’ll see you in 2026, and we’ll keep doing our best to be the game store, card shop and local bar North Carolina needs.

TGP Dispatch: 12/16/25

December 16, 2025
6:30 pm

Hello and welcome to the last TGP Dispatch of 2025! There’s some housekeeping items to address, but we’ll get to that at the end. Right now, we’ve gotta put a firm focus on what’s going on at TGP for our last week of the year.

(we’re closed December 24 – January 1. We will reopen on January 2 with regular business hours)

This week, we’ve got a continuation of Sorcery locals with Gothic packs in the store, it’s a Riftbound locals week as well, and Gundam is continuing as well, it’s an MTG Chaos Draft week, lots of stuff happening. It’s the final week of Commander League X, more on that later, and we’ve got the monthly Mini Paint Night running with a special promotion: buy a drink, get a mini! for free!

That’s a free mini, and all you gotta do is buy a drink! come hang out and paint with us in the lowest-stakes fashion possible, take some big swings, don’t worry about messing it up, it’s gonna be a fun, chill and lovely time! That’s Thursday around six, so we’ll see you there.

Friday Night Magic this week will be a Standard set, whether that’s Final Fantasy of ATLA is TBD, and you’re welcome to make your voice heard on the matter in the TGP Discord if you so choose.

Saturday is the FINALE TOURNAMENT for COMMANDER LEAGUE X, by the way. I’m sure you know all about that. See you there, League Players. Best of luck to all, fight well and with honor. Tournament starts at noon and goes ’till it’s done, there’s gonna be a whole lot of raffle prizes and fun stuff to celebrate the tenth season of League and the year we’ve all made it through together.

Speaking of the end of the year, and things you’ve probably heard about by now:

TGP Slacker’s Holiday Market

market open from noon to six

Here’s all the details, for the curious.

But, the elevator pitch is: we’re calling it a “Slacker’s Market” because if you haven’t found just the right something for just the right somebody, this might just be the place! We’ve got some specially-curated vendors with tables open in The Gathering Place from noon to six on Sunday, and all comers are welcome to browse wares, grab a drink, and help us send off 2025 in style.

It’s sort of a party, definitely a market, and a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We’ll see you there!

Now, the aforementioned housekeeping items. Expect a larger post outlining details, providing reasoning, and more. There’s a big wrap-up coming, at some point. You’ll see it when it does. But, a few important things are changing in 2026 at TGP. Here’s a couple quick hits that, again, you’ll hear more about later. But, for now, if you have any questions or want to talk, please directly contact victor@thegatheringplacegames.com via email or reach out to ludovician_vega (which is also Victor) in the TGP discord via DM.

First, in 2026, TGP will be taking towing in our parking lot far more seriously. No parking on the side wall next to the building, no blocking people in, no parking your car in the lot and walking away. The tow company is currently an on-demand service, something we call when we have an issue. That will never change, we’re not going to allow any towing company to run roughshod in our parking lot. But, with that in mind, we’re going to be a lot more likely to get vehicles out of the lot in the year to come. We’ve seen our parking lot posted elsewhere online as a place to park for free on game days, a lot to leave your car over the weekend, and one of Chapel Hill’s “best places to park downtown without paying for it.” Our lot is for patrons and staff of The Gathering Place and Alpha Pie, and it’s free for the purpose of coming to TGP/AP. A parking page will soon be added to the TGP site to assist folks in understanding our situation, and the larger picture of Chapel Hill’s downtown parking.

Second, in 2026, The Gathering Place will no longer allow outside food from non-local restaurants. No McDonalds, no Raising Cane’s, no chains, none of that. If you buy it local, you’re welcome to eat it here. Everything else stays where you bought it or in your car. We’ll post more about in-store policy and maybe even some of our favorite spots to eat, maybe, on the TGP site sometime soon.

Third, the TGP Discord. It’s a lovely place, and a helpful tool. Changes have already started today, and more are in the pipeline for 2026. We’ll talk more about this later but, for now, know the Discord isn’t going anywhere — but how it functions will be changing specifically to facilitate more in-person interactions and meeting up to actually play games and do fun stuff.

Sorry if this got to sounding a little serious, but, y’know, sometimes things are a little serious even when they’re about a card shop in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

I hope you have an excellent rest of your week, a wonderful holiday, and I sincerely am looking forward to seeing you around even more in 2026.

-Victor

TGP Dispatch: 12/9/25

December 9, 2025
4:26 pm

This week at TGP, we’re drafting FINAL FANTASY for FNM, we’re running big-style events for MTG, Sorcery and Riftbound, and we’re still celebrating the end of the year with fun stuff, sales, and more. Here’s a quick rundown on the big ticket events for the week, taken straight from the TGP Events Page (which is here)

Saturday, 12/13: MTG Vintage  Cash Tournament

TGP’s last MTG Cash Tournament of 2025 is Vintage! It’s happening on Saturday, December 13, at noon.

Vintage is Magic’s biggest, baddest most powerful format. Come prove you, and your deck, have what it takes to run the tables across decades of Magic: The Gathering Cards. A $30 buy-in, for cash and glory.

Full proxy friendly! (all proxies must be clearly representative of the intended card and contain all information the official printing does in an easy-to-identify fashion).

Click here for details, and to register!

Saturday, 12/13: Sorcery Cornerstone Event

Gothic is here, the art is incredible, and the set is BIG! Erik was cooking with this one, it seems, and TGP is ready to put on the first big event for it. Entry is $40 per player, matches continue until one player alone stands undefeated, we really do be contesting that realm, the Cornerstone Kit will be used as prizing, and we’re tossing in a Store Tournament kit as well. Prize packs, playmats, all kinds of stuff on the table! Come play! For glory, for prizes, for fun!

Click here for details, and to register!

Sunday, 12/14: Riftbound Summoner’s Skirmish

$20 entry, a Riftbound Constructed tournament with prizing distributed in the form of packs and TGP store credit. This League? Yeah, I’m thinking it’s full of Legends.

Click here for details, and to register!

Other things of note, let’s talk about the rest of this year!

Next week’s Monthly Mini Paint Night on Thursday is officially now our excuse to empty the shelves before we take a little time off. Here’s how that’s going: buy a drink at the bar, you get a mini and you’re welcome to hang out and paint. We’ve got brushes, paints, and you’ll have a mini if you buy one (1) drink. That’s all it takes. We’ll see you there!

Speaking of clearing space on shelves, as far as sales in December go:

This week, we’re going 10% off all accessories, $2 off sleeves, 10% off Pokemon singles

Next week, 10% off MTG singles, $1 off ALL booster packs, $2 off ALL Collector Booster packs

…and then, we’re gone until January!

Throughout the month, if you spend $300 you get a free TGP T-shirt. That can also be leveled up: if you spend $500, you get a free TGP hoodie. This has gotta be in one transaction, no store credit applied.

We’ve been talking about the Slacker’s Market a little bit, hopefully you saw the post over on Instagram. If you didn’t:

Sunday, December 21, The Gathering Place is saying farewell to 2025 and hello to our holiday break with a little party at the bar, accompanied by a market of local vendors who make super cool stuff.

We’re calling it the “Slacker’s Market” as an ode to people who wait until the last minute to get their ducks in a row, their i’s dotted, their t’s crossed, their gifts wrapped and so on and so forth.

Come by from noon to six to see what wares on on offer, have a drink with us, and stay on the nice list.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The Slacker’s Market is going to rule, we can’t wait for it to happen. Hopefully we see you there, expect another post about it sometime soon.

Obviously, the finale for Commander League X is coming up soon too, but that’s probably a situation where everybody who needs to know, already knows. But you’ll see more stuff about that too, also sometime soon.

Thanks for reading, for playing, for hanging, and we’ll see you around!

Thursday, 12/18: Monthly Mini Paint Night

Each month, The Gathering Place sets aside a little space at the bar for folks to come hang out, paint minis and do some fun crafty nerd chores. Come hang out with us, reduce the amount of minis in your grey pile of shame, and join in the fun on Thursday, 12/18, we get going around 6 p.m.! Bring your own paints, borrow some from the bar, and if you don’t have any minis of your own but have always wanted to try it out, we’ve got some in stock!

Saturday, 12/20: MTG Commander League X — THE FINALE

Commander League X has been an incredible League season. The pulls, the developments, the pivots and the people who make it all happen. On Saturday, 12/20, Commander League X comes to an end with the final tournament. For all the marbles, it’s all happening. Big plays, big prizes, raffles for everybody who shows up, it’s a party more than anything else. See you there, League players!

Sunday, 12/21: TGP End of Year Party + Holiday Slacker’s Market

As the year draws to a close, The Gathering Place is celebrating another year of good times and great people with a little get-together. We’ll have plenty of drinks on tap and in the fridge, we’re setting up the convention table, and we’ve invited some fantastic folks to come by and run vendors with local crafts, goods and very cool things. Check back here for details and specifics soon!

The Gathering Place and Alpha Pie will be closed 12/24 – 1/1. We’ll reopen on January 2 with normal hours!

Look at how sick these Charmander boxes are, by the way. The post has all the details, I just think they’re cool looking.

Other housekeeping matters, we’re going to make a cute and fun post with people’s pets. If you’d be potentially interested in participating, just perambulate on over to the TGP Discord — the “pets” channel, specifically — and @ Becca (discord name, Bookworm) to get your perfectly precious pet posted on the TGP instagram!

There’s more announcements to be made, but this post is getting to be long enough. In short, next week be on the lookout for more things to be aware of. For now, have an excellent rest of your Tuesday, a great week, and we’ll see you around.

TGP Dispatch: 11/25/25

5:00 pm

Hello, friends, and welcome to another week at The Gathering Place. As you’ve no doubt heard by now, we’re closed on Thursday, 11/27, but we’re making up for it by electing to participate in some Black Friday sale tomfoolery. There’s also some notable events happening this week: FAB has a big-mode tournament, a Riftbound learn-to-play event, Commander League X is still rolling (and we just opened another box of Mystery Booster 2 literally today)!

Here’s the two big-ticket events for the week, straight from the TGP Events page:

Saturday, 11/29: FAB Skirmish, S13, BLITZ Format

$15 entry!

November 29th at Noon!

The last hurrah! Come play, fight, win!

Details direct from FAB HQ right here!

Sunday, 11/30: Riftbound Sunday Early Morning Learn to Play Event (Sealed)

$20 entry for a learn-to-play session to get your feet wet with Riftbound, the League of Legends inspired TCG that’s been all the rage for the past little while! Riftbound is hot! hot! hot! and the gameplay mechanics are extremely cool! Come learn how to play!

Click here for details, and to register!

For those paying attention to TGP announcements and social media accounts, the Black Friday sale has formally been announced. Check out the listing here — we’ve got deals, deals and more deals all lined up!

The board game deals, the bundles, the discounts, the Black Friday Sale is cooking!

Side note, if you’re not in the TGP Discord, maybe you should be! We’re going to be posting the online discount code there FIRST. So join the discord server! It’s also a great place to find games to play with folks, truly a boon to all TGP players.

Thanks for reading, and we’ll see you around!
