Monthly Calendar for The Gathering Place in Google Sheets

September ’26 at The Gathering Place, a Summary

Hello and good afternoon, friends! If you’ve been wondering what’s going on at TGP this week, and a little beyond, wonder no longer! Here’s our quick-hit breakdown, followed by some housekeeping notes and forward-looking bits. As always, if you’ve got any questions, hop in the Discord, call the shop, or just drop by and see us!

  • Flesh and Blood: Usurp The Shadow Throne Prerelease
    • Friday, September 18, 7:30 p.m.
    • Entry per player is set at $40, and TGP will have all the associated packs and promos on hand to run another big-time prerelease of FAB in style! See you there, fighters!
  • TGP Friday Night Nerd Trivia: Season Finale
    • Friday, September 18, 10:00 p.m.
    • The end of an era, the last performance from Victor and Ben, a swan song filled with love, laughter, questions, answers, fond memories and tearful farewells. Trivia, as it has been at TGP, is coming to a close — but that doesn’t mean it’s gone forever! Plus, if you think about it, the real Friday Night Trivia was the friends we made along the way. Join us this Friday for a finale with more questions, more prizes, literally double the usual hosts, and whatever else we can muster.
  • MTGPunks Series: Pauper Tournament “Falling Petals”
    • Saturday, September 19, 12:00 p.m.
    • Entry per player is $30, entry goes back to the prize pool, and the MTGPunks tournament series continues in Pauper this month with a playset of Tempest-era Lotus Petals from TGP inventory as part of the prize pool and future property of the Pauper King!
    • Registration and More Information
  • Gundam TCG: First Anniversary Event
  • Riftbound Summoner’s Skirmish
    • Sunday, September 20, 12:00 p.m.
    • Another shot at competitive local Riftbound, another chance to continue fine-tuning your deck and playstyle! This tournament will be run at a competitive rules enforcement level. 32 player maximum, $20 entry per player, Swiss rounds followed by a cut to top. If you’ve ever wanted to give serious competitive Riftbound play a shot, now’s your chance!
    • Registration and More Information

Worth noting, this Sunday’s specialty MTG Draft event at TGP is Kamigawa Neon Dynasty, and you can click here to register.

Might as well go ahead and put the quick hits for the Reality Fracture Prerelease here, as well:

MTG: Reality Fracture Prerelease Weekend

Magic: The Gathering’s next big event set is squarely focused on what’s been going on in-universe: namely, Jace’s ongoing issues with how the world(s) work, and his attempts to crack the firmament wide open and create a new, “better” reality. Colors shifted, alignments and allegiances altered, so much is so different throughout Reality Fracture’s set of cards, and a great deal of Magic won’t be the same once some of these possibilities are brought into colors where they’ve never been before!

Here’s Wizards’ breakdown of the set, and the prerelease event schedule at TGP will be the usual deal:

Friday

Saturday

Sunday

And, of course, your now-weekly reminder: Commander League XI officially begins next week! Here’s a link to all the Preconstructed Commander Decks The Gathering Place has in stock and your now-hopefully-familiar link to the breakdown for this year’s flagship Commander League, Season XI

Unrelated, but have you seen the sweet new merch wall — and specifically, the playmats on it???

*any typos in this post are on purpose, actually*
